We will be shifting to distance learning for the remainder of the week (01/12/22-01/14/22). Chromebooks, tablets, hotspots and/or paper packets will be sent home with students today. Mandatory Drug Screening and Orientation is scheduled for August 3, 2021 at the high school for any high school student that is in enrolled in any extracurricular activities and all band students in 8th-12th grade. Students must attend the mandatory orientation first. Female students need to be at the high school by 8:30 am on the mentioned date for the mandatory orientation and drug screen and male students need to be at the high school by 12:30 pm on the mentioned date for a mandatory orientation and drug screen. Again this is for any high school student participating in any extracurricular activities and any 8th - 12th grade band member. If your student is not there for the orientation they will not be able to complete the drug screen.

There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, May 6th @ 7pm in the HS library for students that are interested in summer school. This can be for first time credit if a current 8th grader wants to complete the required computer credit during the summer. Just a friendly reminder, that EPS will be out of school this Friday, April 2nd and Monday, April 5th. During tonight's school board meeting, Eufaula School Board members voted to lift the mandatory mask mandate for EPS. Masks are optional and may still be worn and will be provided for those who choose to wear them. Temperature checks will no longer be required. Other protocols such as drop off points, assigned seating, etc. will remain in effect.

Due to the increasing number of the high school student body under quarantine due to exposure to Covid-19, Eufaula High School will transition to Distance Learning Wednesday, Nov. 11. Students will return to in person learning on Monday, November 30. All teachers and instructional support staff will report to school during distance learning. Grab and go meals will be available for curb-side pickup at the high school each day from 8:00 to 12:00. This Wednesday, October 7th, is a distance learning day for all EPS students. Students will work completely from home. Students needing paper copies of assignments should request those from their teachers in advance. Breakfast and lunch for Wednesday will be sent home with students on Tuesday.
Middle School tutoring will be available on Monday's and Wednesday's from 3:30 - 4:30 for any students needing help in their classes. Ms. Quinn and Ms. Turner will be our after school tutors. Ms. Turner's tutoring schedule may change some due to her coaching elementary basketball. We will continue to update out tutoring schedule should any changes occur.
Eufaula High School will have a virtual learning day tomorrow, October 1, due to a threat received by school administration. District staff are working with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Eufaula police will be present at both Eufaula Elementary and Eufaula Middle School tomorrow and those sites will be under code yellow precautions for the day.
Parents, please be sure that if your child is participating in athletics and has not yet filled out the required forms from OSSAA that you can go to our MS website . These forms can be found by clicking the "Menu" tab then go to the "Athletics " drop box, then select RankOne Parent Portal. We must receive this before they are allowed to bring it home, and have it in their possession. Chrome books are a big part of the students daily activities in class . We would like to notify you of some changes made her at the Middle School this year. As you know things are much different now than it was since we last had students here in March. The start time for the school day is 8:15 (tardy bell rings at 8:20). This is 15 minutes later than the previous school year. The end time is 3:25. To limit the number of students in the cafeteria each morning, the following procedures will be followed: (All students will be temperature screened prior to entering the building.) Bus riders will be screened before boarding the bus each morning. These students will enter the building through the South doors behind the Middle School. All other students will enter through one of three entrances. Sixth Grade: Drop off will be in front of the MS Gymnasium. Students will be screened before upon entry. Students will have the opportunity to eat breakfast or sit in the bleachers with their masks on while adhering to social distancing procedures. Seventh Grade: Will enter in the 7th grade hallway entrance in the front of MS. Students will be screened upon entry and given the opportunity to eat breakfast or go sit in the MS Gymnasium while wearing their masks on the opposite side of the sixth grade. Social Distance procedures must also be followed in the bleachers as well. Eighth Grade: Eighth graders will enter through the main MS entrance. Students will be screened upon entry, and allowed to eat breakfast or remain in the commons area while adhering to the mask mandate and following social distancing procedures. Students may not be on campus before 7:45 a.m. Lunch Periods To limit the number of students in the cafeteria at one time, there are 3 lunch periods. Students will be seated every 2 seats apart from each other in the cafeteria. Students will also utilize the commons area so that the number of students are greatly reduced to adhere to the social distancing guidelines. Weather permitting students will be allowed to go outside after they eat. Food Deliveries For Lunch Students ordering food to be delivered from restaurants during lunch must prepay when ordering. The middle school office will not collect money from students to pay for deliveries. Student Check-out During the School Day Parent/guardian: Please call ahead of time and notify the office that you will be coming to pick up your student. Call again when you have arrived and we will send your student to your car. Parent/Guardian Request for Meeting With School Personnel In person meetings will be limited to emergencies only or by appointment (call the office to schedule). All other meetings should be conducted via phone call, email, Facetime, Skype, etc. Masks/Face Coverings Masks/Face Coverings are required for all students and staff as well as any visitors to campus. Parents, your middle school child will receive a "Device Loan Agreement" the first day of school. This form MUST be signed and returned the next day. Your child will not receive a chrome book device until this form is returned to the office. If you wish to use you own device that is up to you. In the event we must return to distance learning at some point it will be of the upmost importance that this device be in your possession. Students will also be utilizing these chrome books on a daily basis in their classrooms as well. All forms sent home with your child are vitally important for our records. We appreciate your punctuality in returning all signed paperwork sent home back to the office in a timely manner.
Sixth Grade students ONLY will be allowed to come see their lockers, and learn how to operate the combinations to open it tomorrow. The directions and combination will be provided at check in. This will be on August, 14th from 9 a.m. through 12 p.m. Schedules will also be handed out to those sixth graders who take advantage of this opportunity. Parents will also be allowed enter with them. However, we will be limiting the number of people in at one time. Everyone will be screened at the door, and mask are required upon entry of the building for the duration of the visit. Start date for Eufaula Schools has been moved to Monday, August 17th, due to extreme heat at end of week! Masks will be mandated for all staff and students, and at all school activities!
School Nurse, Shirley Hopkins will be at the Elementary School from 7 am-11 am this week receiving medications for students both over the counter and prescription . You must call and set up an appointment with her. She will be receiving medications for grades K-12 during this time.
Chromebooks will be available for checkout on August 12th from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. in the middle school library for those who have elected to participate in our virtual school option. Parents will have to sign a Device Loan Agreement form before it will be issued. Also, Mrs. Rippy will be there to answer any questions you may have. Even if students do not need a device parents will still need to sign our virtual school agreement form. Everyone will be screened at the door for temperatures and be required to wear a mask while attending the checkout process.

Parents/Guardians: Oklahoma Immunization law requires all students entering the 7th grade to have a dose of Tdap. Tdap is different from DTaP and Td. There will be no grace period. You will need to bring proof of your child having received this vaccine before or on the first day of school. Please contact your Healthcare Provider or the County Health Department for an appointment. If your child has already had this vaccine, please provide a copy of proof of the vaccine to the Middle School office. The Middle School office will reopen Aug. 3rd for any questions you may have.
